Mentoring the Next Generation.  I spent nearly three decades at the intersection of national security, veteran healthcare, and critical infrastructure—building the systems that keep our government running and our veterans cared for.  MY JOURNEY: • 23 year Military Career (retired E-9) • 30 years federal civilian service across DOD and VA • Retired May 2024 as GS-14 IT Area Manager, Richmond VA Medical Center • Served as Subject Matter Expert to DoD CIO Experience Officer (Dec 2024 - Feb 2025)  WHAT I BUILT: • Advised DoD Chief Information Officer's office on enterprise IT operations and user experience • Managed 7,000+ users, 15,000+ devices, operations supporting veteran healthcare across multiple facilities • Led $200M+ satellite communications programs for DOD warfighters globally • Directed Presidential communications infrastructure modernization projects • Designed and implemented a 14,000 sq ft data center from concept to completion • Engineered statewide telecommunications networks saving government $144K+ annually  WHAT I'M PROUDEST OF: Taking Richmond VAMC IT operations from last place in our district to competing for first—through strategic leadership, team development, and operational excellence.  WHY I MENTOR: I've navigated the full federal IT career arc—from military service to GS-14 leadership to advising the DoD CIO's office. I've also experienced the uncertainty of today's federal environment firsthand. My SGE position was eliminated in February 2025 as part of government efficiency actions.  I know what it's like to build a distinguished career, to be brought back because your expertise matters, and to navigate unexpected transitions.
